Temporary Closure / Resumption of Routine Dentistry
Thank you All so much your patience at this difficult time. As you may be aware, the Chief Dental Officer of Wales has downgraded our risk level from a Red to an Amber alert.
This means that we are now open to see patients, although Dentistry is nowhere near back to ‘normal’.
We must adhere to strict guidelines to prioritise patients with pain, infection and severe dental problems. This means that some routine procedures, such as examinations and scales and polishes may be delayed until further restrictions are lifted.
Both dentists and staff have been working long hours under difficult conditions to try and maintain patient safety to make sure we are able to continue working. Risk assessments have been done on all aspects of providing dentistry to our patients.
PPE is fully in place together with an altered flow of patients through the practice to ensure patient safety whilst adhering to the guidelines given by our local health board. We have registered to be one of the practices in the area that we can provide drilling procedures and provide our patients with near to full services.
However, if we currently do any Aerosol Generating Procedures, (AGP = drilling or hygiene work), our surgeries have to be closed for a period of up to 60-90 minutes for fallowing and deep cleaning. This means we must see less patient’s whilst keeping patients safe – so please bear with us until we have a more normal working environment.
To All of our loyal Practice Plan Patients, please be reassured that your registration with the practice is assured and you will be provided with as much treatment as your plan includes, as soon as we are able to see you all.
If any patients need to speak to a dentist or require any treatment, then please either telephone the practice on
(We have installed a new Telephone system which should make contacting us and leaving a message much easier)
Or email us on
and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
In the mean time, thank you from all the Staff at Springfield for your patience and understanding. Your words of kindness and encouragement over the last few months have been amazing and we are truly grateful.
